On the 5th of February, Cloverlea School and people all around the world celebrated their love of reading on "World Reading Day." Mrs McClay revamped the library and created activities for us to mark the special occasion. Our class was paired with a Senior class (Room 7) and the older students read to Te Wai Puna and then our children were able to invite the older children to join them in play (tuakana-teina at it's best). We enjoyed this so much that the teachers decided to create learning experiences for Room 1, 2 and 7 every Friday afternoon. By working with a buddy class, the Te Wai Puna children have more connections to older students while in the playground at morning tea and lunch outside play boosting their confidence.
